
For the first time in San Francisco’s history, an on-duty cop has been charged with homicide for fatally shooting an unarmed Black man
According to CNN, former San Francisco officer Chris Samayoa is charged with fatally shooting 42-year-old Keita O’Neil, a Black man suspected of carjacking a California State Lottery minivan. The incident happened on December 1, 2017. O’Neil was allegedly being pursued but after reaching a dead-end street, he jumped out of the vehicle and began to run. Samayoa shot him as he ran away. O’Neil was reportedly unarmed.
