NEW ORLEANS, La. (3/9/19) – Arkansas State (13-18, 7-11) is the No. 9 seed in the 2019 Sun Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament and will travel to Mobile, Ala., to face No. 8 South Alabama (15-16, 8-10) on Tuesday.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from the Mitchell Center. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and heard on flagship station 107.9 KFIN and across the EAB/Red Wolves Sports Newtork from Learfield/IMG College.
Georgia State (22-9, 13-5) earned the regular season conference title and No. 1 seed while UT Arlington (16-15, 12-6) earns a three-way tiebreak to be the No. 2 seed. Georgia Southern (20-11, 12-6) is the No. 3 seed while Texas State (23-8, 12-6) is the No. 4 seed. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds earn byes to the semifinal round of the tournament while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds await winners of games in the quarterfinals.
Louisiana (19-12, 10-8) is the No. 5 seed and awaits the winner of the A-State and South Alabama game for a 5:00 p.m. matchup in New Orleans at Lakefront Arena on Thursday. Sixth-seeded Coastal Carolina (15-15, 9-9) awaits the winner of Tuesday’s other first round matchup between No. 7 ULM (16-14, 9-9) and No. 10 seed Appalachian State (11-20, 6-12). ULM and Appalachian State play in Monroe, La., on Tuesday with the winner seeing the Chanticleers on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in New Orleans.
The Sun Belt Conference Championship game is Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN2. All other games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
