MONROE, La. (4/3/23) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team held the first-round lead and stands fifth among nine teams after two rounds of the ULM Invitational played at Bayou Desiard Country Club.
A-State opened the day with a 2-over par 290 to lead host ULM by two strokes entering the second round. The Red Wolves turned in a 21-over par 309 in the second round and their total of 599 is three strokes behind Houston Christian for fourth in the standings. ULM leads at 1-over par 577 while Sam Houston (+16) and Missouri State (+19) round out the top three teams.
Morgan Beaulieu posted back-to-back rounds of 1-over par 73 and is tied for fifth to lead A-State. Olivia Schmidt is ninth after an opening round 2-under par 70 and 5-over par 77 for the second round. Elise Schultz gives the Red Wolves three inside the top 20 with a total of 151 (74-77) to tie for 20th. Charlotte Menager was 1-over par 73 in the opening round, but was 13-over par in the second to total 158 and tie for 40th. Casey Sommer rounds out the team scorers with a total of 161 (79-82) to tie for 45th. Playing as individuals, Kayla Burke tied for 31st (79-75), Olivia Coit tied for 34th (77-79) and Sydni Leung is 48th (81-82).
