PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (10/22/22) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team climbed two spots and stands third among eight teams after two rounds of the White Sands Bahamas Invitational at the Ocean Club Golf Course.
A-State had the second-lowest team total of the day at 10-over par 298 to move up to third. The Red Wolves have a total of 602 (+26) after 36 holes, one stroke back of Central Arkansas. Lipscomb leads at even-par 576. UNC Greensboro (+28), Little Rock (+33), Memphis (+42), South Dakota State (+46) and Florida Gulf Coast (+54).
Playing as an individual, Casey Sommer turned in the low round among A-State players at 3-under par 69. Sommer (81-69) is tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard, moving up 32 spots. Elise Schultz is tops among the Red Wolves individually, tied for sixth after 36 holes with a total of 149 (77-72). Olivia Coit (74-76) joins Sommer in a tied for eighth with a total of 151 while Morgan Beaulieu is tied for 11th at 7-over par 151 (76-75). Olivia Schmidt (77-75) gives A-State five players inside the top 15 as she is tied for 15th. Kayla Burke is 40th overall with a total of 161 (81-80).
