DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. (10/29/23) – Beginning competition in its final tournament on the fall schedule, the Arkansas State men’s golf team is 16th of 18 teams following the first round of the Daniel Island Intercollegiate at Ralston Creek Golf Course.
A-State turned in a 14-over 302 and is 11 strokes back of Stetson, Seton Hall and UNC Wilmington for eighth. Middle Tennessee leads at 5-under 283 followed by Coastal Carolina (-4), VCU (-3), South Carolina (-3) and College of Charleston (-2).
Thomas Schmidt and Jack Maxey paced A-State on the day turning in rounds of 2-over 74 to tie for 45th. Pierce Johnson was 4-over 76 to tie for 65th, Chris Somerfield was 6-over 78 to tie for 75th and Hugo Ronnberg was 7-over 79 to tie for 80th.
