R Dub! Visits The City of Crosses: Las Cruces, NM

It’s Gettin’ Hot in Herrr…my Visit to Hot 103

R Dub! – Creator & Host

Las Cruces, NM: Visiting my affiliate radio stations is always a treat and one of my favorite things to do when I’m not behind the microphone. Getting out and seeing the cities that I broadcast in: the people, the neighborhoods, the food…and especially the local radio stations that carry my show…it’s always so much fun!

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of visiting one of my longest-running affiliates: Hot 103FM in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The folks at Hot 103 are more like family; they were one of the first ten radio stations to sign on Sunday Night Slow Jams, over 15 years ago, when the show was at its infancy. It’s always so nice to see my Las Cruces family.

First stop: Bosa Donuts! Because you can’t arrive empty handed!
Da crew! (L-R) Me, Martin, Genesis, GM Mike Jensen, Jackie, Aaron, Joey!
We visited the nearby pueblo of Mesilla for lunch. During the American Civil War, Mesilla briefly served as capital of the Confederate Territory of Arizona.
A beautiful day in New Mexico!
We all had lunch at the historic Double Eagle. This place HAS to be haunted! Love it!
My buddy Ernesto, who was responsible for putting my show on, so many years ago. Always nice to see him!

It was an awesome stop in Las Cruces, and long overdue. Special thanks to GM Mike Jensen (who wouldn’t let me pay for lunch), VP of Programming Ron Stone, Ernesto Garcia (who has been an amazing friend for over a decade), and Joey (Program Director) and his entire staff. I can’t forget about past staffers too, like Damien Willis, who has always been a supporter and friend. A huge thank you to all my listeners in Las Cruces, who I consider friends. Thank you so much for listening to Sunday Night Slow Jams (and the weeknight version) on Hot 103!

You can hear Sunday Night Slow Jams in Las Cruces every Sunday night from 8pm til midnight, and Monday – Thursday from 11pm til 1am.

And now the Slow Jams road trip continues…it’s about to get weird…

Did I take a wrong turn?
Uh oh. They came for me…or the Slow Jams?
This quirky town along i25 is called Hatch, home of the famous Hatch chili.

That’s all for now…next stop, Albuquerque. A reminder, you can hear us all over the great state of New Mexico, in ten cities, including stations in Albuquerque, Carlsbad, Deming, Farmington, Gallup, Riudoso, Roswell, Sante Fe and Silver City. See a complete list of stations and cities HERE.

Next stop: Albuquerque!
