Patchell Named SBC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year

JONESBORO, Ark. (5/17/19) – Arkansas State track and field head coach Jim Patchell was named Sun Belt Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Head Coach of the Year, the league office announced Friday.

Patchell guided the women’s squad to the outdoor championship last week. It was the first outdoor title for the women’s program since 2015 and second dating back to 2001. This marks the seventh SBC Coach of the Year honor for Patchell.

A-State sends 16 student-athletes in 14 events to the NCAA West Region Preliminary beginning Thursday in Sacramento, Calif.
