NYPD Fires Officer Implicated in Eric Garner Death

August 19, 2019

Gwen Carr, left, mother of chokehold victim Eric Garner, joins a “young people” rally in Federal Plaza to protest the decision by federal prosecutors not to bring civil rights charges against New York City police officer Daniel Pantaleo for the 2014 chokehold death of Eric Garner, Wednesday July 17, 2019, in New York. Daniel Pantaleo, the officer who administered the fatal choke hold on Eric Garner, has been fired from the NYPD.  The question is, is this justice for Garner’s death after the Department of Justice failed to indict the officer.
