News Media Advisory: Groundbreaking Ceremony for Convention Center Project 5/15/2018 WHAT: Groundbreaking Ceremony for Red Wolf Convention Center and Embassy Suites Hotel WHEN: Thursday, May 17, beginning at 10:30 a.m. WHERE: East side of Olympic Dr., baseball stadium parking area across from First National Bank Arena, Arkansas State University campus (watch for the tent). WHO: Speakers will be A-State Chancellor Kelly Damphousse, ASU System President Charles L. Welch, Tim O’Reilly of O’Reilly Hospitality Management, and Jerry Morgan, chair of the Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission DETAILS: The groundbreaking will ceremonially mark the start of construction of one of the most significant projects in recent history at Arkansas State University. More details for news media will be available at the groundbreaking. TECHNICAL: Mult-box connections will be available to news media who need audio from the podium. PARKING: Plenty of parking will be available in the lot adjacent to Tomlinson Stadium-Kell Field, home of Red Wolves baseball.
