JONESBORO, Ark. (5/2/23) – Luka Naglic and Thomas Schmidt of the Arkansas State men’s golf team were each named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Teams announced by the league office Tuesday.
Naglic, a second team choice, finished the year with a 71.77 stroke average, the fourth-best scoring average in program history. Naglic logged eight top 25 finishes in 10 events played, including a tie for ninth at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. On the year, Naglic had 17 par or better rounds, including a season-best 5-under par 67 in the second round of the SBC Championship.
Schmidt, a third team pick, had an impressive freshman campaign for A-State posting a stroke average of 72.26, eighth-best in program history. Schmidt saw his score count in 25 of 30 rounds (83 percent) played. He logged six top 25 finishes in 10 events, including a tie for 22nd at the Sun Belt Conference Championship. He capped the year with 16 par or better rounds, including a 3-under par 69 in the second round at Annandale Golf Club.
