Congress has passed a bill restoring enforcement strength to the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to restore the full
strength of the 54-year-old Voting Rights Act as do Reps. Terri Sewell (D-AL)
and Marcia Fudge (D-OH), who helped shepherd the measure through the U.S.
House.
