Library Tower Lighting Celebrates Area School Graduations
5/4/2018 JONESBORO – Eight area high schools will hold their commencement ceremonies at Arkansas State University during the month of May. In honor of each school and the students’ achievements, A-State will light the tower of Dean B. Ellis Library in one of the school’s colors during the evening hours following each ceremony, announced Chancellor Kelly Damphousse. Seven of the ceremonies will be at First National Bank Arena, and the eighth, Marked Tree High School’s, will be at Fowler Center’s Riceland Hall. Here is a list of the schools and their commencement dates, along with the designated colors:
* Saturday, May 5: Valley View High School, blue, and Nettleton High School, gold
* Tuesday, May 8: Brookland High School, red
* Monday, May 14: Paragould High School, blue
* Tuesday, May 15: Jonesboro High School, gold
* Thursday, May 17: Marked Tree High School, blue
* Friday, May 18: Greene County Tech High School, green
* Saturday, May 19: East Poinsett County High School, red
* Monday, May 21: Westside High School, red In addition, the tower will be lighted red on the evening of Saturday, May 12, in recognition of students who receive their diplomas at Arkansas State’s two Spring Commencement ceremonies. # # #
