JONESBORO, Ark. (10/10/20) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team is set to host its annual home tournament, the Lady Red Wolves Classic, Oct. 12-13 at Sage Meadows Country Club.
The 54-hole tournament will include two rounds of competition Monday and one Tuesday, both days beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The field features 15 teams; Arkansas State, BYU, Central Arkansas, Chattanooga, Houston Baptist, Little Rock, Missouri State, Middle Tennessee, Stephen F. Austin, Southern Illinois, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, UAB and Western Kentucky.
A-State has picked up the Lady Red Wolves Classic championship six of the last nine years. The tournament will be the third for the Red Wolves this season. While the team finished 11th in their last outing, at the Schooner Fall Classic, it collected a season-best fifth place finish at the season opener USA Intercollegiate. Olivia Schmidt set a program record with a final round 7-under par 65 at the USA Intercollegiate.
In the lineup for A-State will be Grayson Gladden, Olivia Schmidt, Elise Schultz, Madison Smith and Kayla Burke. Sydni Leung, Maria Jose Atristain Vega and Kiley Rodrigues will compete as individuals.
