Jonesboro Police Department investigating Suspicious Death

On May 2nd around 9:30 am officers of the Jonesboro Police Department were sent to the area close to Trinity Railcar in reference to a suspicious vehicle.  Officers arriving on the scene located a truck that was completely destroyed by fire.

Upon investigation it was found that a person was in the vehicle during the fire.  The death is being listed as suspicious at this time. The body will be sent to the state medical examiner to determine the cause of death. The name of the deceased will not be released until the family is notified.  This investigation will be a collaborative effort with the Jonesboro Police Department, Jonesboro Fire Department and the Craighead County Coroner’s Office.
