The 2018 annual Jonesboro Community Thanksgiving Meal is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day … Thursday, November 22 … at St. Bernards Auditorium, 505 East Washington, Jonesboro, AR.
Churches from all over the city come together each year to provide this special meal to the hungry, the homeless, and the lonely.
Serving begins in the Auditorium on Thanksgiving Day at 11:00 a.m. and continues until we run out of food.
Those not able to get to the Auditorium may request a home meal delivery by calling the First United Methodist Church after November 1st at 932-7479 Monday through Friday during normal business hours starting November first.
Call in for home delivery on Thanksgiving Day is to 336-0555 from 8:00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. This number is answered ONLY on Thanksgiving morning.
Meals are delivered ONLY within the city limits of the city of Jonesboro.
We could not do this with our wonderful volunteers. There is no sign up required for volunteers. Just show up at the Auditorium on Thanksgiving Day starting at 9:30 a.m.
We need volunteers to serve food, to prepare desserts, to prepare meals for delivery, and to deliver those meals in Jonesboro. Volunteers can do any or all of these tasks … as much as you want to help. Your whole family is invited to participate.
Food for the meal is prepared by churches in the city, but volunteers provide the desserts.
Donated desserts may be delivered to St. Bernards Auditorium on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. or on Thanksgiving Day starting at 8:00 a.m.
There are only two rules for desserts.
Rule #1: No refrigerated desserts.
Rule #2: Do not bring a dessert in a dish that you ever want to see again! Put your dessert in disposable containers only, please.
