With our 2020 Arkansas State football home opener on the horizon, I’m thankful and proud the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) approved our extensive plan to help fans feel comfortable and confident when attending games at Centennial Bank Stadium this season.
Thanks to the hard work of our athletics department staff in conjunction with the ADH, we’re confident we’ve been able to successfully create a plan that reassures our A-State football supporters that the health and safety of everyone in the stadium is at the forefront of everything our athletics department is doing for home game days.
We’re excited about the opportunity to have up to 12,000 fans in our beautiful stadium to cheer on the Red Wolves for our six home football dates, and that is something we don’t take for granted given the circumstances. When compared to other teams around the country, including our own Sun Belt Conference, we recognize we could have easily been in a different situation.
Again, we appreciate the ADH’s approval and confidence in our plan. We continue to look at all details to ensure our outstanding fans have the opportunity for the best experience possible at Centennial Bank Stadium.
I have always believed in clear and candid communication to our fans, and delivering our stadium procedures and plans calls for us to provide information in an even more deliberate manner. Our athletics department wants to spend these next several days before our home opener reinforcing the plan in detail in an effort to help everyone feel comfortable and confident.
Our athletics department will be using our available communication methods every day leading up to Sept. 19 in order to address individual areas of our stadium and game-day elements until we have reviewed our plan in its entirety with our fans.
We encourage everyone to keep a close eye on our athletics and football social media platforms and official website, AStateRedWolves.com. All this information will also be available to media outlets, and we look forward to their continued A-State coverage as they keep the community updated on our program.
Even while we are making every effort to communicate our plan, we always welcome constructive feedback and questions. Our staff is always available to speak with fans and can be contacted at 870-972-2401.
As I’ve said before, Arkansans are loyal, purpose-driven people. Let’s be proud of what we have built here at Arkansas State and what we can achieve in the future regardless of the challenging times we are living in.
GO RED WOLVES!
