Cotton Statement on Memorial Day
Washington, D.C. — Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today released the following statement on Memorial Day:
“Memorial Day began as Decoration Day, as communities and families decorated the graves of fallen soldiers with flags and flowers. The tradition continues today across our land, with flags and flowers adorning patriot graves just as the memory of their bravery and sacrifice adorns our hearts. Their stories inspire our souls and give us all a renewed attachment to the noble country whose flag they wore in their final moments. May they rest in eternal peace, with their Gold Star families comforted by the honor with which they served and in which the living hold them.”
