Cotton Congratulates Tsai Ing-wen on Re-Election

Washington, D.C. – Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) today issued the following statement on Tsai Ing-wen’s re-election as President of Taiwan:

“Congratulations to Tsai Ing-wen on her reelection as president of Taiwan and to the people of Taiwan for holding yet another free and fair election. The island’s vibrant democracy is a shining beacon of freedom for oppressed peoples around the world, particularly those suffering under the yoke of the Chinese Communist Party. I look forward to strengthening U.S.-Taiwan relations even more in the coming years.”
