CORRECTION: Governor Hutchinson to Host Public Town Hall Meetings to Discuss Government Transformation
The address for the Jonesboro event has been updated below.
LITTLE ROCK – Governor Asa Hutchinson will host public town hall meetings in Jonesboro and El Dorado to discuss his efforts to transform and reorganize state government. The Governor will be joined by state and local leaders in each community.
Since 2015, Governor Hutchinson has consolidated a number of state agencies, removed more than 1,100 employees from the state payroll through attrition, and established the Transformation Advisory Board, a volunteer group of citizens from both the public and private sectors who work to identify cost-savings within state government.
In each of these town hall meetings, the Governor will discuss his continued efforts to streamline state government, including his plan to reduce the number of cabinet-level agencies that report to him by half, an announcement he made earlier this year.
