Written by Press Release

March 27, 2019

Sen. Boozman joined his colleagues to discuss Women’s History Month 2019 on the Senate floor.

Boozman highlighted Arkansas’s own Hattie Caraway, who was the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate and broke barriers related to her service in the chamber. He also acknowledged Revolutionary War combat veteran Deborah Sampson, for whom his and Senator Jon Tester’s bill on improving women veterans’ care is named, and also discussed current female empowerment efforts and initiatives.
