    Arkansas Twilight Up Next For A-State Track and Field

    JONESBORO, Ark. (5/5/22) – Eleven Arkansas State track and field athletes will make the trip across the state for Friday’s Arkansas Twilight, held at the John McDonnell Track in Fayetteville, Ark.

    The meet, which begins at Noon CT Friday with the men’s and women’s hammer throw, will be streamed live on SEC Network+ beginning at 5 p.m.

    Friday’s competition marks the final week of regular-season action for the Scarlet and Black before turning full attention to the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, held May 12-14 in Lafayette, La.

    COMPETING TEAMS (Division I): Arkansas State, Arkansas, Little Rock, Memphis, Missouri State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts

    OLYMPIC ATHLETES FROM: United States, Bahamas, Great Britain, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden

    Three-time SBC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Aimar Palma Simo opens up action in the men’s hammer throw at Noon, while Grace Flowers and Chastery Fuamatu will compete in the women’s flight. Flowers, Fuamatu and Evangelynn Harris will also throw in the women’s shot put, which is set for a start time of 7:30 p.m.

    At 3 p.m., Bradley Jelmert and Trace South will take flight in the men’s pole vault, while Lauren Beauchamp and Avery Shell – the top two vaulters in the conference – will compete at 6:30 p.m.

    Blaique Webster is slated to run in the women’s 100 meters at approximately 6:43 p.m.

    Also on the straightaway, Ke’Von Holder will run in the men’s 110-meter hurdles at 7:05 p.m.

    Lasse Funck will close out the night for A-State on the track, running in the men’s 800 meters that is set for a 7:15 p.m. starting gun.
