The Arkansas State University African Student Association hosted their first ever “A Taste of Africa” event. The theme of the event was “Supporting and Promoting Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion.” Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, Professor of History at Arkansas State University, served as Master of Ceremonies. KLEK provided audio equipment and lighting. A capacity crowd at the Arkansas State University Pavilion enjoyed dramatic performances, singing, dancing, interactive games, music, and authentic African food from around the continent. Flags from various African countries were also on display as well as information about different African countries were placed around the tables in the building.
