JONESBORO, Ark. (10/18/23) – Following career-best performance on Friday, Arkansas State cross country’s Jacob Pyeatt earned Sun Belt Conference Men’s Runner of the Week honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
The Mountain Home, Ark., native paced the men’s squad at the Arturo Barrios Invitational, placing 28th with a personal-best 8K mark of 23:55.4. He helped the men’s squad to its fourth top-10 team finish in as many meets this season.
Pyeatt’s honor is his second career in cross country, earning the award on Oct. 19, 2022, after his previous career-best showing at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.

Pyeatt and the Red Wolves now turn their attention to the Sun belt Conference Championships, set for Saturday, Oct. 28, in Foley, Ala. A-State’s men are seeking their third consecutive team title, while the women’s squad is looking to win the league crown for the fourth time in five seasons.
