JONESBORO, Ark. (9/9/20) – With Arkansas State’s 2020 cross country season opener just days away, the Sun Belt Conference announced its list of Top Seven Runners To Watch.
Pauline Meyer and Elizabeth Gillette represent A-State on the women’s side, while Bennett Pascoe was named on the men’s list. The list is based off of the previous year’s individual finish at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.
Meyer was A-State’s highest finisher a year ago, placing second in the conference to earn All-Sun Belt honors for the third year in a row. Elizabeth Gillette placed sixth as the second Red Wolf to cross the finish line. On the men’s side, Pascoe also placed sixth to earn all-conference laurels for the second straight year. Meyer and Pascoe also placed inside the top 25 at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships to earn USTFCCCA All-Region distinction.

In August, Arkansas State was picked to repeat last year’s historic performances on both the men’s and women’s side. The A-State women look to defend last year’s conference crown, while the men were picked to finish second, as both squads return all five scorers from the conference meet.
A-State is slated to begin the 2020 season Sept. 12 in Conway at the UCA Cross Country Open. The 2020 Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships are currently scheduled for Oct. 31 in Mobile, Alabama.
