AUSTIN, Texas (6/7/23) – Arkansas State’s Bradley Jelmert and Aimar Palma Simo concluded their stellar 2023 campaigns on collegiate track and field’s highest stage Wednesday at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Both athletes made their national championship debuts and finished with Honorable Mention All-America acclaim.
Palma Simo placed 20th in the men’s hammer throw, tossing the implement 67.20m (220-6) on his final attempt.
In the evening, Jelmert cleared 5.30m (17-4.5), eclipsing the mark on his second try at the height to earn a 21st-place finish.
The championships continue Thursday with the first day of women’s competition, and features A-State’s Pauline Meyer in the semifinal round of the 3000-meter steeplechase. Start time is slated for 8:02 p.m., and the race will be broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 and online via ESPN+.
