VAIL, Colo. (9/25/23) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team turned in an opening round 3-over par 291 to stand second among 16 teams at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.
Following the season-low round of 291, A-State is six shots back of first round leader Pepperdine (-3), but leads High Point (+6) by three strokes. New Mexico State (+7), Kennesaw State (+7), Mercer (+9), South Dakota State (+9), Central Arkansas (+10), Wofford (+10) and Boise State (+11) round out the top 10 teams. The Red Wolves collectively carded 16 birdies and three eagles at the par72, 6,440-yard Red Sky Golf Club Fazio Course.
Charlotte Menager is tied for second individually following a career-low round of 3-under par 69. Menager had six birdies, nine pars and three bogeys on her career-best round. Behind two eagles and two birdies over the last six holes, Olivia Coit finished even-par and stands tied for 16th individually. Making her A-State debut, Anne-Lea Lavoie was 2-over par 74 and is tied for 25th. Ashley Kim (+4) and Madison Tenore (+7) are tie for 42nd and 63rd, respectively, to round out the A-State lineup.
