HUMBLE, Texas (3/20/23) – Competing at the All-American Intercollegiate among 21 teams, including 10 ranked in the top-100, the Arkansas State men’s golf team is ninth after two rounds of the event played at the Golf Club of Houston.
A-State, ranked No. 82 in the latest Golfstat rankings, registered a 5-over par 293 in the first round and followed with a 1-over par 289 to total 582 (+6) for the first 36 holes. No. 36 Louisville leads the field at 10-under par 566 with No. 14 Tennessee, No. 17 Kansas State and No. 29 Ole Miss tied for second at 2-under par 574. No. 47 LSU is fifth at even-par 76 with Sam Houston (+1), No. 46 Houston (+4) and Louisiana Tech (+5) ahead of A-State.
Jack Madden led A-State with a total of 143 (-1), carding a 1-over par 73 in the opening round and followed with a 2-under par 70 to tie for 11th thus far. Thomas Schmidt turned in the low round of the day for the Red Wolves with a 4-under par 68 in the second round. Schmidt is tied for 15th with an even-par total of 144 (76-68). Jack Maxey is tied for 44th at 4-over par 148 (74-74), Devyn Pappas is tied for 57th at 6-over par 150 (73-77) and Luka Naglic is tied for 65th at 7-over par 151 (73-78). Playing on the members course in the individual event, Felix Krammer is tied for eighth among 33 entrants at 3-over par 147 (75-72).
