TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (3/14/23) – The Arkansas State men’s golf team finished sixth among 15 teams at the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
A-State, ranked No. 80 in the latest Golfstat rankings, totaled 40-over par 904 for the event and earned wins over top-100 sides No. 56 Florida Gulf Coast (+60), No. 74 Lipscomb (+44) and No. 83 VCU (+43). No. 8 Florida State won the event at 14-under par 850 with North Alabama second (+24) and No. 24 Ole Miss (+27) finishing third. The Red Wolves were nine strokes shy of Indiana and Troy for fourth. Of the 15 teams in the field, 13 were ranked inside the top-150.
Luka Naglic paced A-State individually as he turned in his best round of the event at 1-over par 73 to finish tied for 14th with a total of 223 (74-76-73). Devyn Pappas totaled 224 (75-69-80) to tie for 18th while Jack Madden climbed the leaderboard 11 spots Tuesday to finish tied for 35th at 228 (78-74-76). Thomas Schmidt finished tied for 56th with a total of 232 (74-75-83) and Felix Krammer was tied for 65th at 235 (77-77-81) to round out the five players toward team scoring. Playing as an individual, Jack Maxey finished tied for 65th with a total of 235 (78-79-78).
