PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas (10/21/22) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team turned in a 16-over par 304 in the first round of the White Sands Bahamas Invitational and stands fifth among the eight teams competing at the Ocean Course Golf Club this weekend.
A-State was 16-over par, one stroke back of Memphis for fourth and three strokes back of UNC Greensboro for third. Lipscomb was 3-over par in the first round to lead Central Arkansas by two strokes. Little Rock (+21), South Dakota State (+25) and Florida Gulf Coast (+25) round out the eight teams in the team standings.
Olivia Coit had the low round of the day for the Red Wolves with a 2-over par 74 to stand tie for sixth individually. Morgan Beaulieu (+4) is tied for 13th, Olivia Schmidt (+5) is tied for 19th and Elise Schultz (+5) is tied for 19th to give A-State four inside the top 20. Kayla Burke (+9) and Casey Sommer (+9) are tied for 40th.
