JONESBORO, Ark. (8/24/23) – High hopes abound for the Arkansas State cross country teams, both which were picked first in the Sun Belt Conference preseason coaches’ polls announced Thursday.
The men’s squad, which is looking to defend back-to-back conference crowns, earned six first-place votes. A-State’s women’s team, which finished second at the league championships last year, also received six first-place votes to top the preseason table.
This season’s conference championships meet returns to Foley, Ala., for the second year in a row and will be held at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve.
Arkansas State opens the season Saturday night, Sept. 2, at the Memphis Twilight Classic, held at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn.
