
OXFORD, Miss. (2/20/19) – The Arkansas State baseball team dropped a 15-3 contest to SEC opponent Ole Miss at Swayze Field Wednesday evening.
The Red Wolves fall to 2-2 on the season while Ole Miss moves to 2-1 on the year.
The Red Wolves struck first with back-to-back RBI hits by Justin Felix and Kyle MacDonald in the top of the first inning, but Ole Miss answered back on a three-run homer to by Tyler Keenen in the bottom half of the frame and tacked on two more runs with an RBI single and sacrifice fly to go up 5-2 after the first inning.

The Rebels pushed their advantage to 10-3 in the fourth inning with another five-run inning and then added four more runs in the fifth inning to go up 14-3. Ole Miss added another run in the sixth.
Drew Tipton, Sky-Lar Culver and Alex Howard each finished the night 2-for-4 for the Red Wolves, with Howard adding an RBI single in the third inning. Felix and MacDonald each finished with an RBI as well.
A-State returns to action to when it hosts Valparaiso in a three-game series at Tomlinson Stadium. The three-game series will be played as a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. and will conclude with the finale on Monday at noon.
