FRESNO, Calif. (3/27/23) – Winding down the regular season schedule, the Arkansas State women’s golf team is 12th among 15 teams after two rounds of the Fresno State Classic played at San Joaquin Country Club.
A-State posted consecutive rounds of 15-over par 303 and is one stroke shy of Iowa for 11th and eight strokes shy of Rutgers for sixth. Grand Canyon holds the 36-hole lead at 8-over par 584 with Fresno State (+10), Long Beach State (+12), Xavier (+14) and Cal State Fullerton (+16) rounding out the top five.
Olivia Schmidt paced the Red Wolves with an even-par 72 in first round and a 5-over par 77 in the second to rank tied for 23rd individual at 149. Elise Schultz (75-76) and Charlotte Menager (78-73) are tied for 31st, respectively with a total of 151. Casey Sommer totaled 155 (78-77) to tie for 56th thus far and Morgan Beaulieu is tied for 77th totaling 161 (78-83). Playing as an individual in the field, Kayla Burke is tied for 45th with a total of 153 (74-79).
